GROWSAFE Agrichemical Supplier Certificate
Who should do this course?
This course is for rural retail staff who are likely to be working in a customer-facing role in an agrichemical retail store and are advising others on the safe use of agrichemicals. They may have responsibility for managing a bulk storage facility on site.
On successful completion of a GROWSAFE Agrichemical Supplier course, you will be able to:
- meet the requirements of a range of regulatory and industry requirements for agrichemical suppliers
- demonstrate a high level of competency and responsibility in managing the human and environmental risks of agrichemicals
- demonstrate knowledge of agrichemicals, their mode of action and environmental impact
- be able to advise customers on the safe use of agrichemicals including storage and transport.
On successful completion of this course and associated practical requirements, you will be awarded the GROWSAFE Agrichemical Supplier certificate. If you have met the competence requirements, you will also achieve the Certified Handler Test Certificate for bulk storage and/or retail supply of agrichemicals.
The GROWSAFE Standard (or Introductory) certificate is a prerequisite for this course.
Expiry of Certificate and renewal
A GROWSAFE Agrichemical Supplier Certificate is valid for 5 years, at which time it must be renewed. This is because laws, technology and best practice are constantly changing. While you can read and hear about these changes yourself, your customers and the regulators require evidence that you are up-to-date. Renewal of your certificate must be done within 6 months of expiry of your certificate. Your Certified Handler certificate can be renewed at the same time.
