GROWSAFE offers a range of courses to suit different needs.

 

GROWSAFE introductory course

Our Introductory course is primarily about the safe use of agrichemicals - learning how to protect people, animals, the environment and to ensure food safety. 

On successful completion of this course and associated practical requirements, you will be:
- certified to purchase and apply tracked agrichemicals
- certified to apply certain agrichemicals
- trained to apply agrichemicals in a safe, responsible and effective way
- aware of your obligations under current legislation relating to agrichemical use.

Successful participants will be awarded two certificates:
- GROWSAFE Introductory Certificate
- Approved Handler Test Certificate.

growsafe applied certificate

Our Applied course builds on the Introductory certificate and is suited to those who instruct others, develop and manage programmes of use for agrichemicals, or make and justify decisions on the use of agrichemicals. The Applied certificate is suitable for managers and supervisors.

As part of the course, you will receive a visit from the trainer to your operation and get individual feedback and training.

GROWSAFE Registered Chemical applicator

The Registered Chemical Applicator (RCA) course is for contractors who spray for hire or reward.  Most Regional Councils require contractors to hold this certificate or an equivalent.

The RCA certificate has a number of strands to suit individual situations.  These include Total Vegetation Control (TVC), Brush, Aquatic, Broadacre and Livestock External Parasites.
